The filament power supply uses advanced switching power supply circuits and adaptive technology, which can automatically determine the internal resistance of high-power tubes to smooth the voltage and make the high-power tubes work in a high-precision state. The power source is the energy basis of the amplifier circuit. We all know that the principle and structure of electronic tubes and transistor amplifiers are very different, so the principles and structures of their power supply are also very different. Drinking water, systematically understanding the power supply circuit of the electronic tube is the only way for the fever of the tube, and will lay a solid foundation for the design, manufacture and maintenance of the electronic tube circuit.
From the perspective of power supply, the power supply of the tube is divided into three parts: the filament power supply (A), the high voltage power supply (B +) and the negative bias (C-). The basic form is shown in Figure 1. In the figure, we can see that only B power can correspond to the role of the power supply of the transistor circuit and directly participate in the gain and energy conversion of the amplifier, while A power and C power are only unique to the tube circuit.
At the beginning of the birth of the electron tube was powered by batteries. At that time, a set of batteries were used for the filament, anode, and first grid. The names of A, B, and C electricity came from this. The characteristics of A electricity-low voltage and large current adapt to the characteristics of the battery at that time. Its filament voltage Uf series is also tailored according to the battery voltage standard, 6.3V, 12.6V, etc. are still in use today.
